Exporting Scalar Values from Meshes

If required, you can export the scalar values contained in a selected scalar mesh to a comma-separated values file (*.csv extension).

How to Export Scalar Values from a Mesh
  1. Do one of the following:
    • Click the Export Scalar Values button in the Scalar information box on the Data Properties and Settings panel.
    • Right-click the required scalar mesh in the Data Properties and Settings panel and then choose Export Scalar Values in the pop-up menu.

      In this case, you will also be able to export the X, Y, and Z axis coordinates for each vertex along with the corresponding scalar values(s).

  2. Choose Face Scalar Values or Vertex Scalar Values in the Scalar type drop-down menu, as shown below.

  3. Do the following, as required:
    • Choose the scalar value slots you want to export in the Slots drop-down menu.

    • Check the Select all scalar values option to export all scalar value slots.

    • Check the Export with coordinates option to export the X-Y-Z axis coordinates for each vertex along with the corresponding scalar value(s).

      Note This option is only available when exporting scalar values from the pop-up menu item.

  4. Click OK.
  5. Choose a location and file name in the Select a File to Export in CSV dialog and then click Save.
